  • Resumen
    • It is argued that science‐based scenarios of the type developed for use in multi‐disciplinary simulation‐games do not, in general, have their educational potential fully exploited in such games. Such scenarios, it is suggested, can constitute a rich source of in‐depth case studies suitable for use in the teaching of the various academic subjects that they encompass. Since it is felt that multi‐disciplinary games of the type developed to date are generally not, in their original forms, suited to this type of exploitation, a completely new type of educational package is proposed‐‐the multi‐disciplinary multi‐project pack. The general characteristics of such a package, which is envisaged as using a single set of resource materials built round a given scenario as the basis of a number of projects of different types designed for use in the teaching of a wide range of subjects, are discussed. One specific example of such a multi‐project pack‐‐the ‘Pumped‐Storage Multi‐Project Pack'‐‐is then described in detail, and the article ends by describing a number of other multi‐project packs currently being developed.
