Resumen de Análisis de los métodos de evaluación de la aptitud del territorio para turismo alternativo

  La valoración inadecuado del sistema natural y la falta de planeación, en ocasiones provoca que las prácticas de turismo alternativo rompan con el criterio de sustentabilidad de sus propios principios. Por esta razón, el estudio de la aptitud del territorio es una herramienta fundamental de gestión previo a establecer cualquier tipo de actividad turística, que permite tanto al poblador como al gestor, identificar los recursos en la dimensión natural y socioeconómica con los que cuenta el territorio para definir las mejores áreas de aprovechamiento que permita la conservación y el desarrollo de las comunidades. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar los métodos de investigación utilizados para determinar la aptitud de los territorios para actividades de turismo alternativo en sus modalidades ecoturismo, turismo de aventura y turismo rural. Se analizó la literatura internacional identificando autores, objetivos, métodos y resultados, obteniendo como resultado una agrupación en tres categorías: 1) investigaciones basadas en inventarios de recursos naturales y socioeconómicos, 2) investigaciones basadas en el sistema natural únicamente y uso de SIG, y 3) investigaciones basadas en el sistema natural y socioeconómico con apoyo del uso de SIG. Es esta última categoría es la que presenta trabajos más completos y complejos siguiendo la teoría de la sustentabilidad y los objetivos que persigue el turismo alternativo. Aun así, se recomienda innovar en métodos que permitan incluir mayor número de variables para la caracterización del territorio, además de escalas de mejor definición y detalle.

  The inadequate valuation of the natural system and the lack of planning, sometimes causes that the practices of alternative tourism break with the criterion of sustainability of its own principles. For this reason, the study of the aptitude of the territory is a fundamental management tool prior to establishing any type of tourism activity, which allows both the villager and the manager to identify the resources in the natural and socioeconomic dimension with which the territory to define the best areas of use that allow the conservation and development of communities. The objective of this work was to analyze the research methods used to determine the aptitude of the territories for alternative tourism activities in their modalities ecotourism, adventure tourism and rural tourism. International literature was analyzed identifying authors, objectives, methods and results, resulting in a grouping in three categories: 1) research based on natural and socioeconomic resource inventories, 2) research based on the natural system only and use of GIS, and 3) research based on natural and socioeconomic system with the support of the use of GIS. It is this last category that presents more complex works following the theory of sustainability and the objectives pursued by alternative tourism. Even so, it is recommended to innovate in methods that allow to include more variables for the characterization of the territory, and scales of better definition and detail.
