Els Greuges de Guitard Isarn, senyor de Caboet: traducció, datació i lectura

    L’objectiu d’aquest treball es demostrar que el cèlebre inventari o memorial de greuges de Guitard Isarn, senyor de Caboet, que se suposava escrit entre 1080 i 1095, es va redactar a finals de 1105 o principis de 1106. Per defensar el canvi de data ha estat fonamental, d’una banda, el testament sagramental de Guitard i, de l’altra, l’inventari mateix. En aquest sentit, la traducció d’aquest document al català modern, que aportem, s’ha d’entendre com una prova a favor del canvi de data, sobretot pel que es llegeix al final del text. L’article s’acaba amb una interpretació, breu i voluntàriament limitada, del sentit d’aquest document, que es considera il·lustratiu dels conflictes per la distribució de l’excedent entre els senyors i els seus fidels.

    The aim of this paper is to show how the famous inventory of grievances or Memorial de Greuges of Guitard Isarn, Lord of Caboet, which was assumed to have been written between 1080 and 1095, was actually written in late 1105 or early 1106. Guitard’s “sacramental will” (testament sagramental) and the inventory itself have been fundamental in justifying this change in date. In this respect, the translation of the inventory into modern Catalan, which is provided, should be seen as proof of the altered date, especially given what can be read at the end of the text.

    The paper concludes with a brief and intentionally limited interpretation of this document’s significance, which is considered to illustrate the conflicts arising due to the distribution of surpluses among the lords and their vassals.
