    Los dientes pueden resultar de gran valor en la identificación de distintos aspectos, como el grupo racial de ascendencia.

    Así, se ha comprobado que el tamaño dentario está más condicionado por el origen étnico que por la talla del individuo. Existiendo una clara distinción entre los grupos raciales básicos en función de su tamaño dentario,aunque en la actualidad esta separación no es tan evidente, dada la dificultad cada vez mayor de encontrar razas puras
