Resumen
The hydrogeological dynamics of a range-and-basin area, constituted by the Gavarres range andthe basins of Selva and Baix Empordà, is studied using stable isotopes (SlsO and ÖD) and tritium.Two distinct flow systems are distinguished from potentiometric and isotopic data. A local system,with origin at the Gavarres range, that recharges both basins with stable isotopic values related tothe winter local meteoric line; and a regional system, identified at the Selva basin in the deepersampling points and in those related to fractures, which starts off in the Transversal and Guilleriesranges, and deviates from the other isotopic data, approaching the annual local meteoric line. Furthermore, mixing processes are also identified. The existence of two flow systems with distinct spatial scales indicates an effective flux through fractures in the area
