  • The aims of this work is describe the basic operation of the geophysics electromagnetic prospecting methods in the frequency domain (FDEM), with which it can be detected the terrain's electrical conductivity changes. This will allow us to differentiate between the water-bearings formations saturated with salt water, with high conductivity, from the formations saturated in fresh water. It will also be explained the necessary equipment used during the field work, besides aspects such as theoretical basis in which they are based in. Also study the actual situation of the saline intrusion and the fresh water - salt water interface zone in the Tordera's delta, and to be able to compare this study's results with the ones obtained by Himi (2000) in the same place in 1998. Finally, to analyze the saline intrusion's evolution during the last five years in the delta's water-bearings.
