Resumen de El patrimonio geológico de la provincia de Zamora: inventario preliminar de lugares de interés geológico
A preliminary list of geological points of interest is proposed for the Zamora province (Spain) integrating the most relevant aspects of geology. The selected sites include the main geological units of the province, i.e. the Hercinian Massif and the Duero River Basin, tertiary. They are classified according to three main criteria: importance (international, national, regional and provincial); geological content; which includes the classical branches of Geology, and use (didactic, scientific and tourist-economic). A further indication is also given on the type and level of legal protection of the sites. This selection of geological points of interest forms a solid ground to reconstruct the geological history of the province.
