  • Resumen
    • Foreign Lower Jurassic bivalves from the Geominero Museum (Spanish Geological Survey) belongto two palaeontological collections: Fósiles Extranjeros (40 recorded especimens) and Paleontología Sistemática de Invertebrados (12 recorded specimens). The 52 specimens of bivalves are included in 17 genera of the subclasses Palaeotaxodonta (15.4%), Pteriomorphia (51.92%), Fleterodonta(26.92%) and Anomalodesmata (5.76%). The identified species are well known in Europe, no newspecies having been described. The most common species are Dacryomya I aery ma (J. de C.Sowerby, 1824), Plicatu la (Harpax) spinosa J. Sowerby, 1819, Gryphaea (G.) arcuata Lamarck,1801 and Nicaniella (N.) voltzi Hönighaus in Römer, 1836. Palaeoautoecological analysis showsthat 15.4% were deposit-feeders (order Huculoida) and the rest are suspension-feeders. Among thelast ones, several life habits are recognized. Most specimens come from France (47), especiallyfrom Bourgogne, Languedoc-Roussillon and Lorraine. There are recorded specimens from Germany, Switzerland and United Kingdom. Most bivalves are Sinemurian to Toarcian in age. Somespecimens are from Pliensbachian. The uncertain historical origin of the collections and theircurrent situation are discussed.
