Este trabajo se propone analizar la pervivencia de Hugo Chávez en el lenguaje político de Nicolás Maduro. Se considerarán las referencias y citas constantes que hace el actor político para afianzar y consolidar su poder como estrategia de acercamiento, de justificación y credibilidad, desde una perspectiva del análisis del discurso sin entrar en el complicado tejido de la situación política venezolana. El marco temporal del corpus se limitará a diciembre de 2012 - abril de 2013. El resultado evidenciará una proliferación del término Chávez, en donde el emisor utiliza un abanico de herramientas para reforzar y legitimar su figura

The current paper aims to analyse the survival of Hugo Chávez in the political speeches of Nicolás Maduro. The speeches considered compose a small corpus spanning from December 2012 to April 2013. The analytical framework is that of discourse analysis, and no attempt is made to get into the intricate political situation of Venezuela. The analysis shows that Maduro makes constant references to Hugo Chávez and quotes from his words in order to provide justification and credibility to his own actions and to strengthen and consolidate his own power. The name of Chávez appears a high number of times in the corpus, in positions where the speaker uses a range of linguistic tools that reinforce and legitimate his position.
