    El Museo Zumalakarregi en Ormaiztegi (Gipuzkoa), inició su recorrido en 1989 centrado en la figura de Tomás Zumalakarregi, general carlista y líder militar de este movimiento en sus primeros años. El discurso en torno a una figura histórica militar ha evolucionado, sin abandonar el rigor científico, hacia un relato de temática más amplia, el siglo XIX en EuskalHerria. La difusión ha sido uno de los ejes principales a través de exposiciones itinerantes o de recursos digitales que hemos desarrollado desde inicios del milenio.

    Proyectos más participativos, integrados en el entorno, pero con objetivos abiertos al territorio y a la difusión del patrimonio. Destacamos la incorporación del arte contemporáneo en nuestro discurso histórico.

    The Zumalakarregi Museum in Ormaiztegi (Gipuzkoa), began its journey in 1989 focused on the figure of Tomás Zumalakarregi, a Carlist general and military leader of this movement in its early years. The discourse around a historical military figure has evolved, without abandoning scientific rigour, towards a broader thematic account, the 19th century in the Basque Country. Dissemination has been one of the main axes through travelling exhibitions or digital resources that we have developed since the beginning of the millennium.

    More participative projects, integrated in the environment, but with objectives open to the territory and to the diffusion of the heritage. We highlight the incorporation of contemporary art in our historical discourse.
