Resumen de The Roots of Educational Technology

  • This paper traces the roots of edtech back through the behavioural sciences and the theorising of educationalists. The author concludes that the process of educational technology must not be guided solely by the criterion of efficiency but by a view that sees education as a means of dealing with the whole person. In developing this view the author examines the ancestors of educational technology, the emergence of visual instruction and the relationship of audiovisual aids to educational technology.
