    Carlos Sigüenza y Góngora escribe los Infortunios de Alonso Ramírez (1690) por petición del virrey Gaspar de la Cerda Sandoval Silva y Mendoza tras escuchar el testimonio que dio el puertorriqueño Alonso Ramírez sobre su aventura en los mares coloniales con piratas ingleses y franceses. Este texto sigue generando ambigüedad sobre la autoría, la intención autoral y su naturaleza híbrida. El presente estudio ofrece un análisis retórico de la tópica exordial en el primer apartado de los Infortunios, cuya semántica apunta al topos medieval de la peregrinatio vitae como configurador de la narratio. El objetivo habrá sido preparar y mantener la benevolencia del receptor durante toda la lectura de la narración.

    Carlos Sigüenza y Góngora writes Infortunios de Alonso Ramírez (1690) at the request of viceroy Gaspar de la Cerda Sandoval Silva and Mendoza based on the oral testimony given by the puerto rican Alonso Ramírez about his adventure in the colonial seas with english and french pirates. This text continues to generate ambiguity about authorship, authorial intention and its hybrid nature. The present study offers a rhetorical analysis of the exordial topic in the first section of Infortunios, whose semantics points to the medieval topos of peregrinatio vitae as the configurator of the narratio. The objective has been to prepare and maintain the benevolence of the receiver throughout the reading of the narrative.
