  • Aging is a complex process in which there is a decrease in the quality of life due to the loss of functional abilities (1). Therefore with the advance of age there is an increased risk of developing health problems and obesity (1). Also One of the central events that accompany aging are the changes in body composition and the decrease in aerobic capacity (2). In this sense, there is a direct association between body mass index (BMI) and functional limitations (3). Also some studies based on resistance training have proven effective in reducing health problems as we age (4), resistance training is a widely used method for improving the quality of life in the elderly (5). Further the resistance training in aquatic environment have been related to the improvement in the quality of life of the elderly and body composition (6–8). The objective of this study was to analyze the influence of resistance aquatic exercise on body composition and aerobic capacity of a sample of older women
