  • Resumen
    • This paper describes an approach to course evaluation developed by the Advisory Centre for University Education at the University of Adelaide (Hall, 1977). It is based on experience gained during the conducting of 18 full‐scale course evaluations.

An important feature of this work is that evaluations are conducted with (rather than for) a department. Although all results of evaluations are confidential, some of the people with whom we have had contact have kindly agreed to allow us to describe part of this work with them.

This paper is certainly not intended to describe the approach to evaluation! It is presented as one approach that has been found to be successful when the evaluator is subjected to very definite practical constraints (especially the constraint of time).
