On René Thom’s Significance for Semiotics, Linguistics and Philosophy

  • We attempt to summarize some of the work of the mathematician René Thom with respect to his work in semiotics, linguistics and his philosophy as it pertains in these areas of his endeavours. A brief summary of his work in semiotics and linguistics is presented followed by Thom’s philosophical and other thoughts which make up, in our opinion, the core of his philosophical work in these areas of human thought.
