Resumen de Part Task Skills Training for Air Intercept Control:: an Illustration of a Computer‐Assisted Learning System
This paper describes the rationale for, and characteristics of, a computer‐based Skills Trainer for the Royal Navy specialization of aircraft intercept control. The in‐house construction of the Aircraft Intercept Control Skills Trainer was completed to provide a detailed illustration of a cumulative part task training device that was also an example of a genuine computer‐assisted learning system. The Skills Trainer simulates the task environment with selective fidelity appropriate to the support of the skills to be learnt, but also incorporates aids and enhancements designed to support the teaching strategies used by training staff. The paper includes a short pictorial sequence to illustrate a representative segment of Skills Trainer operation.
