Este trabajo es una aproximación a varias cuestiones relacionadas con la creación, el desarrollo y la clausura de la Universidad promovida por la Santa Sede, en la Diócesis de Canarias a finales del siglo XIX. Hasta el momento de su cese el 28 de febrero de 1933, se graduaron en ella 87 personas que obtuvieron 193 títulos en Teología, Filosofía y Cánones. Estos graduados constituyeron el grupo más influyente de la Diócesis de Canarias durante la primera mitad del siglo XX

“The Pontifical University of the Canary Islands (1897-1933)”.This paper is an approach to some questions related to the creation, development and closing of the University promoted by the Holy See in the Diocese of the Canary Islands at the end of the 19th century. Until the closing of the University on 28 february 1933, there were 87 graduated: 193 degrees in Theology, Philosophy and in Canon Law. These graduated were the most influential group of the canary Diocese at the first half of the 20th century
