  • Resumen
    • This article* describes some of the developments which have taken place in life and leadership skills training in the Junior Army during the last three years. These developments have come about partly as a result of individual initiatives and partly through the evaluation and development of experientially based learning processes during in‐service training. The processes which will be described have been trialled and subsequently developed in several junior units and the results, in terms of developing personal confidence, self‐esteem and teamwork, have been most impressive. The article briefly examines some of the philosophical and psychological bases which have formed the foundation of the research and development. It describes the results of the in‐service training workshops and emphasizes the very real need for trainer training for all those involved in these kinds of activities. Without the hard work and whole‐hearted participation of workshop members and directing staff the material for this article would not have seen the light of day.
