  • Resumen
    • English-medium master’s programmes are on the rise in Europe, particularly in business schools, as being able to communicate successfully in English is becoming increasingly important in the corporate world. This chapter proposes research-driven strategies for language teaching based on literature from both the linguistics and management fields. It starts by discussing what “communicating successfully” can mean and then argues that students on higher-level business programmes still need dedicated language training in order to be optimally prepared for a global career. It puts forward a case for incorporating pragmatics as an integrated part of language training and concludes with concrete suggestions based on previous research.
