  • Resumen
    • This article seeks to bring together the experience accumulated over two years of cascade training. It does not view the topic from the heights of an academic ivory tower, rather it is rooted firmly on the ground — in empiricism, in pragmatism and with the commercial needs of the sponsoring organization always in mind. In describing this experience, cascade training is first defined and its nature discussed. Consideration is then given to how it should be implemented, with particular comment on what appears to be good practice. A balanced view is then presented, detailing the upsides and downsides of cascade training. This confirms the first rule of training — ‘You can never get everything right.’ Finally, some thoughts of future developments are discussed, particularly in the context of computer‐aided training and distance learning.
