  • Resumen
    • The travel and tourism sector is heralded as a major growth area of British industry. Within that sector, the ABTA National Training Board provides a comprehensively articulated strategy of education and training for the travel industry and is seen as a leader in vocational provision. This article argues that vocational provision can only be based on a clear identification of training needs for the whole industry, illustrates how training provision is closely matched to the needs of the workplace, and looks ahead to indicate the impact that new and future developments in instructional technology might have in making training more accessible in the workplace.
