Interactive video, whether based on videotape or videodisc systems, has the potential to revolutionize many aspects of training. The extent to which it will, depends on the degree of commitment to changing traditional patterns of training to make them more directly job related. It also depends on the competence with which interactive video courses are produced. This paper looks at the technology and its benefits and explores some of the rapidly expanding range of applications to which it is being put.
