The aim of this work was to explore whether home confinement due to the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the habits and emotional state of people with and without Eating Disorders Behaviors (EDB) residing in urban areas of Venezuela. The SCOFF instrument for EDB screening and an ad hoc survey were administered to explore sociodemographic aspects, habits and emotional state. The sample was N = 313 participants (78.8% women; 21.2% men) with an average age of M = 40.41 and S.D. = 18.66. The Χ2 statistic and frequencies analysis were used. In the total sample, statistically significant relationship was observed between confinement and the manifestation of negative emotions in the confinement environment (sadness, fear, frustration) in the Si-TCA group; statistically significant relationship was also observed between confinement and routines, stress or tension, communication difficulties, alteration in eating behavior, exacerbated concerns about weight, control of food intake over life and keeping informed in the No group -TCA. The results suggest anticipating the consequences for mental and physical health that public policies of home confinement have in the general population and, in particular, anticipating the care and guidance needs that people with ED will demand during the quarantine period.
