Este trabajo realiza una revisión de las escasas noticias publicadas de las excavaciones en Diego Álvaro (Ávila) llevadas a cabo por Arsenio Gutiérrez Palacios, a las que no se ha prestado atención suficiente, y se dan a conocer unas informaciones inéditas sobre las pizarras visigodas halladas allí, que el autor dejó manuscritas. En estas páginas analizamos estas noticias y apuntes de trabajo manuscritos de Gutiérrez Palacios, para poner de manifiesto la necesidad de acometer un estudio sistemático sobre la Memoria de excavaciones que llevó a cabo el autor, mucho más amplia y sistemática que estas propias notas, y que aún permanece inédita

This paper reviews the few published reports of the excavations in Diego Álvaro (Ávila) carried out by Arsenio Gutiérrez Palacios, to which not enough attention has been paid. Some unpublished information is also given about the Visigothic slates found there, which the author left in handwriting. In these pages we analyse these news items and manuscript notes by Gutiérrez Palacios, to highlight the need to undertake a systematic study of the Memory of Excavations carried out by the author, much more extensive and systematic than these notes themselves, and which still remains unpublished.
