    Resumen: El presente trabajo busca indagar sobre la relación existente entre la obra de César Vallejo (1892-1938) y el romanticismo, relación que puede ser analizada desde su trabajo de tesis en la Universidad de Trujillo el Romanticismo en la Poesía Castellana (RPC), en donde explora las principales características de este movimiento -principalmente en España-, como motor de su posterior paso al socialismo. La tesis, en una clara exaltación de elementos como el medio, el momento, la subjetividad, ex presa como elemento esencial un apego a la tradición sin desconectarse de una crítica subsecuente a la sociedad de su época, utilizando un lenguaje más directo.

    Abstract: The present work seeks to investigate the relationship between the work of César Vallejo (1892-1938) and Romanticism, a relationship that can be analyzed from his thesis work at the University of Trujillo, Romanticism in Castilian Poetry (RCP), where he explores the main characteristics of this movement, -mainly in Spain- as the driving force behind its subsequent passage to socialism. The thesis, in a clear exaltation of elements such as the medium, the moment, and subjectivity, expresses as an essential element an attachment to tradition without disconnecting from a subsequent critique of the society of its time, using a more direct language.
