    Notable profesional que nació en la ciudad de Cochabamba en 1879 y falleció en 1952. Luego de cursar estudios primarios y secundarios, obtuvo el título de bachiller en filosofía y letras en la misma ciudad1. Curso sus estudios universitarios en Chile, obteniendo el título de médico cirujano en 1904 el cual fue revalidado en Bolivia durante la presidencia de José Manuel Pando1. Durante su formación universitaria fue condiscípulo del profesor Dr. Emilio Croisset, célebre Anátomo–Patólogo chileno1. Se especializó durante cinco años en Cirugía General en Berlín y Hamburgo (Alemania), concluyendo la especialidad en 1911.  Fue discípulo del renombrado cirujano Theodor Billroth, especialista en cirugía gástrica.  Plasmó en Cochabamba la plenitud y destreza de la disciplina quirúrgica de su famoso maestro, heredando técnicas y firmeza en sus resoluciones1.

    Remarkable professional who was born in the city of Cochabamba in 1879 and died in 1952. After studying primary and secondary school, he obtained his bachelor's degree in philosophy and literature in the same city1. He studied at the university in Chile, obtaining the title of medical surgeon in 1904 which was revalidated in Bolivia during the presidency of José Manuel Pando1. During his university training, he was a student of Professor Dr. Emilio Croisset, the famous Chilean anatomical pathologist. He specialized for five years in General Surgery in Berlin and Hamburg (Germany), concluding the specialty in 1911.  He was a disciple of the renowned surgeon Theodor Billroth, a specialist in gastric surgery.  In Cochabamba he captured the fullness and skill of the surgical discipline of his famous master, inheriting techniques and firmness in his resolutions1.
