A la hora de encarar las obras de arte realizadas en fachadas media es procedente analizar cual es la visión del mundo, de la vida, que armoniza el surgimiento de las arquitecturas que soportan el medio y, también, como si de un río que se bifurca se tratase, aquellas corrientes artísticas resultantes tanto de surgir merced a esa visión como de responderla, bien sea por oposición o por ser una respuesta natural. ¿Qué visión, qué sistema de pensamiento emergería predominantemente a mediados del s.XX como herramienta de transposición de una metodología que conducirá la economía global o la construcción cultural hasta nuestros días? El presente artículo se centra en el hecho de que las fachadas media son un producto reciente de la visión capitalista del mundo, por lo que es menester fijar la vista, en la corriente de pensamiento que favorecería definitivamente la visión tecnologista y capitalista que procuró el advenimiento de las estructuras visuales que nos ocupan, para posteriormente entender la respuesta del arte ante ese hecho y en el escenario donde se produce. When addressing aetworks made on media facades, it is appropriate to analyze which is the vision of the world, of the life, which harmonizes the emergence of the architectures that support the medium and, also, like a bifurcating river, those artistic streams resulting from arising against that vision and from responding to it, either by opposition or by being a natural response. What vision, what system of thought would predominantly emerge in the mid-20th century as a tool for the transposition of a methodology that will lead the global economy or cultural construction to our present days? This article focuses on the fact that media facades are a recent product of the capitalist vision of the world, thus it is necessary to focus on the current of thought definitely favoring the technological and capitalist vision that sought the advent of visual structures that occupy us, in order to then understand art's response to that fact and the stage where it is produced: New York City, the Spectacolor system and the Messages to the Public program.
