  Heegeria tangirica (Saunders, 1877) (Hemiptera: Alydidae) is recorded from mainland Portugal for the first time. The world and the Iberian distribution of the species is summarized and a map synthesizing the knowledge about the distribution of the species in the Iberian Peninsula is included.
