    Diversos investigadores han mantenido la existencia de dos facies culturales en el nivel VIII de la Cueva de Santimamiñe, una Chatelperroniense y otra que correspondería a un Auriñaciense Típico. Nos hemos propuesto la revisión de los materiales de este nivel y del nivel anterior (VII). El trabajo que presentamos es un avance a dicha revisión.

    Different authors sustained the presence oftwo cultural facies in the VIII level ofthe Santimamiñe Cave (Spain): one ofthem, Chatelperronian and the other corresponding to Typical Aurignacian. We propose a revision ofthe materials ofthis level and also a study of the precedent VII level. The article we present is an advance of this revision.
