    María de Hungría fue una de las grandes coleccionistas de la Europa del siglo XVI. Encargando pinturas a grandes artistas, exhibió múltiples galerías de retratos en sus palacios, un fenómeno que se popularizó en la Edad Moderna. Sabemos por los retratos que nos han llegado que entre ellos se situaban notorios enemigos. En este artículo hemos examinado fuentes primarias y secundarias con la intención de identificar dónde estaban situadas estas galerías y qué función debían cumplir estos retratos dentro de ellas. Concluimos que las galerías dinásticas encargadas por la Reinacelebran la influencia que los Habsburgo alcanzaron en las cortes europeas gracias a la política matrimonial y, por otra parte, su papel como consejera imperial.

    Mary of Hungary was one of the biggest collectors of 16th century Europe. By commissioning paintings from great artists, she exhibited multiple portrait galleries in her palaces, a phenomenon that became popular in the Early Modern Age. It is known, from the portraits that have come to our time, that notorious enemies stood among them. This paper examines primary andsecondary sources with the intention of pointing out where these galleries were located and what function these portraits should have fulfilled within them. It is concluded that the dynastic galleries commissioned by the Queen celebrate the influence that the Habsburgs achieved in European courts thanks to marriage policy and also, her rol as imperial advisor
