Resumen de Textiles en el Arte del País Vasco. Evolución y significancia en la producción artística contemporánea

El presente estudio tiene como objetivo evidenciar el uso de tejidos y elementos relacionados con la indumentaria y la moda en la producción artística vasca desde las últimas décadas del siglo XX hasta la actualidad, que encontramos principalmente en la escultura y en nuevas tipologías como las instalaciones.
El contexto que se genera en el País Vasco a partir de finales de los años setenta, dará lugar a la creación de una interesante producción artística que forma parte actualmente de importantes colecciones en instituciones museísticas vascas y del estado como el Artium en Álava, el Guggenheim y el Museo de Bellas Artes en Bilbao, el Museo Reina Sofía de Madrid, etc. La cantidad y diversidad formal entorno a su empleo, hace que resulte necesario realizar un acercamiento tanto cronológico como a nivel material y conceptual para entender su evolución y significancia en el contexto artístico vasco.

The present study aims to demonstrate the use of fabrics and elements related to clothing and fashion in Basque artistic production from the last decades of the twentieth century to the present, mainly found in sculpture and new typologies such as art installations.
The context generated in the Basque Country from the end of the 70s, will lead to the creation of an interesting artistic production that is currently part of the most important collections in Basque and state museums such as the Artium in Álava, the Guggenheim and the Museum of Fine Arts in Bilbao, the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, etc. The quantity and formal diversity surrounding its use, makes it necessary to create a chronological as well as material and conceptual approach, to understand its evolution and significance in the Basque artistic context
