Resumen de El pintor i el poeta. Maragall-Picasso, una conjunció

  L’article se centra en les interrelacions artisticopoètiques entre Joan Maragall i Pablo Picasso. A banda de les referències escampades que el pintor deixa anotades en algunes cartes i llibretes i que la crítica ha anat recollint a partir de 1960, hi ha un seguit de material picassià que encara no ha estat llegit des d’una perspectiva maragalliana. És un recorregut difícil d’emprendre perquè el pas de la coincidència fortuïta a la citació implícita comporta acceptar ressonàncies i latències que són encara menys demostrables. Amb tot, un estudi aprofundit de les teories literàries i artístiques respectives i l’aproximació als conceptes de la mediterraneïtat, de la feminitat i del que és la Modernitat poden ajudar a aquest supòsit. Potser el camí més correcte, més enllà dels pocs indicis positius, consisteix a mantenir el paral·lelisme entre tots dos autors, ressaltar els punts en comú que els caracteritzen i tan sols deixar oberta la hipòtesi de la influència que el poeta català –i especialment les seves «Vistes al mar»– pugui haver tingut en la pintura de Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, i també en l’escriptura, de Pablo Picasso.

  The article focuses in the poetic-artistic interrelations between Joan Maragall and Pablo Picasso. Besides from the scattered references that the painter left in notebooks and letters which scholars started collecting in 1960, there is some of Picasso’s material that still has not been read from a Maragallian perspective. It is not easy to start walking this path, as moving from mere coincidence to implicit citation requires accepting resonances and latencies that are difficult to prove. However, an in-depth study of the literary and artistic theories, as well as the consideration of the concepts of the Mediterraneanism ideology, can help us taking on this task of developing these assumptions. Perhaps, the best way to start is tracing parallels between both authors, highlighting the things they had in common and which characterize them, and suggest the hypothesis that the Catalan poet –esp
