En su artículo, la escritora Marta Sanz desgrana los aspectos más importantes que ligan a Benito Pérez Galdós con el sentimiento republicano español. Desde su acercamiento vital a la Primera República hasta su colaboración y participación con el republicanismo de finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX, Galdós se declara a favor de este sistema político y de organización social por lo que tiene de justicia social y alejamiento de las desigualdades que observa en la sociedad del momento.

In her article, the writer Marta Sanz describes the most important aspects that link Benito Pérez Galdós with Spanish republicanism. From his vital approach for the First Republic to his collaboration and participation with republicanism at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, Galdós declares himself in favor of this political system and social organization for what it has of social justice and fight against inequalities observed in the society of the moment.
