Multiple-date Landsat data and multispectral airborne DS 1268 (ATM) data have been evaluated for identification and monitoring of wetlands in an area of dune ponds located within Doñana National Park. Dune ponds are small and generally temporal water bodies that fluctuate in response to rainfall and water table changes. ATM data interpretation has allowed mapping of extent of water bodies and different type of vegetation, mainly grassland and hygrophytic vegetation. Multiple-date Landsat imagery has been evaluated for change detection of water extent variation.
