La llegada de España al Consejo de Seguridad hace oportuno reevaluar el papel de la ONU en el contexto del siglo XXI principalmente centrada sobre los Estados fallidos, el Crimen Organizado y el terrorismo, ponderando lo obrado por esta organización hasta el momento, el escenario con que se va a encontrar España y lo que puede aportar en este contexto. Por su extensión se ha dividido en dos partes, una primera centrada sobre los Estados fallidos y el crimen Organizado y esta segunda que aborda la problemática del Terrorismo.

The return of Spain to the Security Council makes it appropriate to reassess the role of the UN in this century’s geopolitical context, mainly focused on failed states, organized crime, and terrorism, pondering what the UN has done so far, the scenario to be found by Spain, and how Spain may contribute to International Security in said context. Due to its length this work is divided into two parts, the first one focusing on failed states and organized crime, and this second addressing the problem of terrorism.
