Variaciones sobre la ira: una lectura sobre las justificaciones morales de hechos violentos

    Partiendo de la imbricación entre las emociones y el razonamiento moral evidencio la relación entre un sentimiento reactivo (ira) y la justificación de la violencia en escenarios políticos límite. Describo un caso colombiano (i.e. relato fundacional de las Farc-Ep) y confronto las posiciones de Axel Honneth y Martha Nussbaum de la siguiente forma: (i) De qué forma una lucha armada fundamentada en la ira y en ideas de retribución implica una reproducción Ad Infinitum del conflicto armado; (ii) Cuáles son las posibilidades de fundamentar acciones políticas en una emoción reactiva como la ira; (iii) Cuál es entonces la función política de la ira frente a hechos atroces. La presente reflexión deja abiertas preguntas sobre como la relación entre ira, retribución y violencia implica un estricto paso por alguna manifestación del perdón incondicional y el olvido, sin lo cual una comunidad política no podría dejar atrás escenarios de violencia perpetua.

    Starting from the imbrication between emotions and moral reasoning I prove the relationship between a reactive feeling (anger) and the justification of violence in unsettled political settings. I develop the description of a Colombian case (i.e.

    fundational narration of Farc-Ep) and confront the positions of Axel Honneth and Martha Nussbaum as follows: (i) how an armed struggle based on anger and ideas of retribution implies an Ad Infinitum reproduction of the civil war; (ii) what are the possibilities to base political actions on a reactive emotion such as anger, and in the hope as a cognitive content of this; (iii) what, then, is the political function of anger in the face of heinous acts. The present reflection leaves open questions about how the relationship between anger, retribution and violence implies a strict step through some manifestation of unconditional forgiveness and oblivion, without which a political community could not leave behind scenes of perpetual violence, on and on proliferate and increase a stage in which there is only room for a for control and order.
