    Este articulo arroja luz sobre las manifestaciones de la práctica racional en el pensamiento islámico entre la influencia aristotélica y griega encarnada por los esfuerzos teóricos de los pensadores y filósofos del Islam y al-Andalus como Averroes (Ibn Rušd), Ibn Ḥazm y Algacel (al-Ġazzālī), y destaca los esfuerzos por enraizar la práctica del raciocinio en el pensamiento islámico a través del empeño de Ibn Taymiyya por basar su teoría lógica en principios pragmáticos
