  • Resumen
    • The Laguna de los Pozuelos and its saline environment.· An important part of the quaternary deposits of Northwestern Argentine is located in the arid and semiarid environment of the Puna of Salta and Jujuy. A great part of the deposits are found in large techtonic depressions and their gradual replenishment in most cases led to the formation of vast salt deposits which may constitute one of the main natural resources of this region. This first attempt to the knowledge of these saline environment tries to reconstruct the morphogenic evolution of such reliefs and to establish the chronology of the most important events of which El Bolsón de Pozuelos still preserves good evidence of the gradual incidence and increase of antropic actions which, as a negative factor, are responsible of the morphogenetic conditions of this region.
