El árabe marroquí de Ceuta y el fracaso escolar: una revisión a través de la prensa local y de la investigación educativa (2005-2018)

    Hace ya diez años que realizamos una investigación sobre el fracaso escolar en Ceuta. Está comprobado que las causas del mismo son siempre, y en todos los lugares, multifactoriales. Sin embargo, la población ceutí de origen cristiano-occidental, y dentro de ella el profesorado que es mayoritariamente castellanoparlante, señala como causa principal el uso del árabe ceutí, lengua materna ya de al menos el 70% de la población escolar árabe-musulmana de la ciudad. Por contra, algunas investigaciones y bastantes grupos de la sociedad civil ceutí rechazan que el bilingüismo en sí sea el factor esencial. En este trabajo analizamos, a través de la prensa local y de los resultados de las investigaciones que han tocado directa o tangencialmente esta temática, las valoraciones y propuestas de la academia y la sociedad civil durante los últimos trece años

    en years ago we conducted an investigation on school failure in Ceuta. It is proven that the causes of it are always,and in allplaces, multifactorial. However, the Ceuta population of Christian-Western origin, and the teaching staff that is mostly Spanish-speaking, points out as the main cause the use of Ceuta Arabic, the mother tongue of at least 70% of the Arab-Muslim school population of the city. On the other hand, some research and quite a few groups of the Ceuta civilsociety reject that bilingualism in tself isthe essential factor. In this work we analyze, through the local press and the results of the researchthat hasdirectly or tangentially touched on this subject, the assessments and proposals of the academy andcivil society during the last thirteen years
