    El objetivo de esta monografía es mostrar las sociedades deportivas españolas que se inscribieron en los antiguos gobiernos civiles de nuestro país hasta 1920.

    El trabajo abarca todas las provincias españolas, incluyendo las dos ciudades autónomas. La horquilla temporal cubre desde la primera inscripción datada en 1841 hasta 1920 inclusive. El estudio bucea en todos los archivos históricos provinciales o archivos similares indagando si tienen los libros de registro de asociaciones hasta 1920. Una vez confirmada la información realizamos un viaje por gran parte de España, recorriendo veintiocho repertorios para seleccionar y transcribir de forma literal los datos encontrados. Los resultados sacan a la luz 1.131 sociedades deportivas, de 31 provincias. Desvelando 26 deportes diferentes, además de sociedades polideportivas y Los Exploradores de España. Esta investigación tiene un notable valor histórico, porque las fuentes utilizadas, a nivel nacional, son inéditas y oficiales. Anteriormente, ningún estudio había realizado este análisis desde este enfoque, por esa razón consideramos que es una de las obras más completa que se ha realizado dentro del movimiento asociativo deportivo.

    The objective of this monograph is to show the spanish sports societies that were registered in the old civil governments of our country until 1920. The work covers all the Spanish provinces, including the two autonomous cities. The temporary hairpin covers since the first inscription dated in 1841 to 1920 inclusive. The study dives into all provincial historical archives or similar archives, inquiring if they have the registration books of associations up to 1920. Once the information was confirmed, we made a trip through a large part of Spain, traveling twenty-eight repertoires to select and literally transcribe the data found. The results bring to light 1.131 sports societies, from 31 provinces. Unveiling 26 different sports, as well as multi-sports societies and the scouts of Spain. This research has a remarkable historical value, because the sources used, at the national level, are unpublished and official. Previously, no study had carried out this analysis from this approach, for that reason we consider that it to be one of the most complete works that has been carried out within the sports associative movement.
