    Dentro de las actividades culturales de las sociedades civilizadas, el teatro es una de las formas más evidentes y explícitas, en los comportamientos culturales humanos, en los que la otredad, se manifiesta de variadas formas. Siguiendo dicterios de la semiótica del teatro se examinan diversas modalidades en las relaciones de la teatralidad y la otredad: desde el uso metafórico en la lengua usual (en las esferas políticas y amorosas) hasta el empleo que ha hecho el teatro en algunas ocasiones al darle un uso filosófico y simbólico a través de la metateatralidad, al concebir la vida como teatro (en El gran teatro del mundo), la alteridad onírica y la ensimismada (en La vida es sueño) para terminar examinando al alteridad hipnótica en El mago, de Juan Mayorga.

    Within the cultural activities of civilized societies, theater is one of the most evident and explicit forms, in human cultural behaviors, in which otherness is manifested in various ways. Following the dictates of the semiotics of the theater, various modalities in the relations of theatricality and otherness are examined: from the metaphorical use in the usual language (in the political and love spheres) to the use that the theater has sometimes made of giving it a philosophical and symbolic use through metatheatrality, when conceiving life as theater (in The GreatTheater of the World), dreamlike alterity and self-absorption (in Life is a Dream) to end by examining hypnotic alterity in The Magician, from Juan Mayorga.
