Resumen de La Formación Margas y Calizas de Hondón de las Nieves

• The Hondón de las Nieves Marls and Limestones Formation are yellow marls with intercalation of yellow irregular bedded limestones, Early Toarcian in age. This formation is defined in the Crevillente Sierra where outcrops at the top of the Crevillente glauconitic Limestone Formation, Pliensbachian in age, and below well-bedded micritic limestones of the Middle and Late Toarcian.

  This yellowish marly facies was deposited after a period of condensed sedimentation, and was lightly affected by listric faults (just its lowest portion). It can be interpreted as the result of the Early Toarcian anoxic event.
