  • Daniel Jiménez de Cisneros obtained on the area a valuable information on how the Alicante region was affected the by the February 21st 1909 earthquake. This earthquake had wide repercussion in the population that was felt alarmed by the publication in a local newspaper warning on an earthquake risk for the nearby dates to the next spring equinox. Before this improper news the panic awoke in the population and, though there were replies and calls to the normality on the part of many intellectual and technical, the degree of dread was such that a lot of people slept far from their houses in those days.
