    • The promotion of the plurality of types of enterprises is a key political issue. It is true for financial sector too. Because Financing of the economic development, especially for local ones, is not simply a question of arranging required financing to invest in and realize local productive projects, but as equally important issue is the source and sustainability of the resources allocated. The financial and ensuing economic crisis has had negative impacts on the majority of enterprises; however, contrary to the expectations, cooperative enterprises including financial cooperatives has proved to be resilient during the recent crisis. The objective of the paper is to analyze commercial banks and Agricultural Credit Cooperatives (TKK), characteristics, results of operations, differences in extending credits to loan applicants, financial solvencies and finally, their resilience to the shocks of economic crises by performing financial and econometric analysis, based on the experiences drawn from recent financial crises. Finding of the study has proved the resilience of the Agricultural Credit Cooperatives in the face financial crisis better than Commercial banks.
