    Este estudio tiene como finalidad dar a conocer, a modo de presentación, los objetivos y el planteamiento metodológico que desarrollamos en nuestra Tesis Doctoral titulada “El Arte en el antiguo Priorato de Uclés (siglos XVII-XVIII)”, actualmente en proceso de elaboración. Desde el punto de vista cronológico abarca el amplio periodo del Barroco y afecta, en el ámbito geográfico, al espacio bajo la jurisdicción eclesiástica de la antigua dignidad prioral de Uclés. De este modo, estudiamos las manifestaciones artísticas vinculadas a la Orden Militar de Santiago en torno a 21 poblaciones que en su día mantuvieron una jurisdicción pero que, actualmente, se encuentran diseminadas por las provincias de Cuenca, Toledo y Ciudad Real.

    The purpose of this study is to present, by way of presentation, the objectives and the methodological approach that we developed in our Doctoral Thesis titled “Art in the old Priory of Ucles (17th and 18th centuries)”, currently in the process of elaboration. From the chronological point of view it covers the broad period of the Baroque and affects, in the geographical scope, the space under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the former Ucles prior dignity. In this way, we study the artistic manifestations related to the Military Order of Santiago around 21 populations that at the time maintained a jurisdiction but that, at the moment, the are scattered by the provinces of Cuenca, Toledo and Ciudad Real.
