    Este artículo intenta dar unas breves pinceladas acerca de la vida y obra de algunos creadores de historietas que desarrollaron su actividad artística en Galicia o en otros lugares, como por ejemplo Madrid, París o Buenos Aires. La producción de historietas está estrechamente vinculada al desarrollo de la prensa, fundamentalmente la satírica e ilustrada; a la incorporación y desarrollo de la técnica de reproducción del fotograbado a finales del siglo XIX; al desarrollo urbano y a la existencia de un porcentaje importante de población lectora. En este artículo se analizan las primeras historietas publicadas en Galicia a partir de 1881. Intenta mostrar las imágenes más representativas de la producción gráfica desde finales del siglo XIX hasta la década de 1960.

    This article tries to give a few brushstrokes about the life and work of some comic artists who developed their artistic activity in Galicia or other places, such as Madrid, Paris or Buenos Aires. The production of comic strips is closely linked to the development of the press, mainly satirical and illustrated; to the incorporation and development of the reproduction technique of photogravure at the end of the 19th century; urban development and the existence of a significant percentage of the reading population. In this article the first cartoons published in Galicia are analyzed starting in 1881. It tries to show the most representative images of the graphic production from the end of the 19th century until the 1960s.
