Sprach- und Identitätsdiskurse: Mallorca und die Republik Moldau im Vergleich

    This article compares the discourses on ethnolinguistic identity in the sociopolitical context of Majorca and the Republic of Moldova, highlighting a series of parallel affinities. We base or study on the analysis of some linguistic ideologies disseminated through texts produced by scholars, politicians and journalists, which shape the public discourse in both territories. Various aspects of the standardization processes of Catalan and Romanian are discussed, as well as the position of most Majorcan and Moldovan intellectuals in favour of the standard language, the controversy surroundingthe “scientific truth” and the respective glottonyms, and the persistence of purist attitudes. We also allude to the “mythical bilingualism”, used to the benefit of dominant languages, and to the marks left by traditionally hegemonic Spanish and Russian.

    Aquest article compara els discursos sobre la identitat etnolingüística en el context sociopolític a Mallorca i a la República de Moldàvia, tot fent ressaltar una sèrie de paral∙lelismes. Ens basem en l’anàlisi d’algunes ideologies lingüístiques difoses a través de textos que vehiculen el discurs públic en ambdós territoris, produït per intel∙lectuals, polítics i periodistes. S’hi comenten aspectes diversos dels processos de normativització a les àrees de llengua catalana i romanesa, la posició de la majoria de la gent de lletres mallorquina i moldava a favor de la llengua estàndard, la controvèrsia entorn de la “veritat científica” i dels glotònims respectius o l’existència d’actituds puristes. S’al∙lu-deix així mateix a la ideologia bilingüista (“bilingüisme mític”) i a l’empremta de les llengües tradicionalment hegemòniques (respectivament, l’espanyol i el rus).
