    Se hace en este artículo una revisión de los textos italianos que han editado y traducido un texto clásico del siglo IV: la llamada Peregrinatio Egeriae o Itinerarium Egeriae. Sin el hallazgo casual en 1885 del manuscrito, no habría sido posible el aluviónde obras que forman la llamada Bibliografía Egeriana. Pero hemos de ir más allá. Sin ese hallazgo, nos habríamos perdido a una mujer fundamental para conocer el siglo IV y cómo fueron los primeros tiempos de la Cristiandad, ya que nos aportó el testimonio más antiguo de la Liturgia cristiana y de la división del año litúrgico, de la transición del latín clásico a las lenguas romances, y, por último, no lo menos importante, de nuestra visión de las mujeres de la época

    In this article, a revision of the Italian texts that have edited and translated a classic fourth century text is made: the so-called Peregrinatio Egeriae or Itinerarium Egeriae. Without the accidental finding in 1885 of the manuscript, the alluvium of works that form the so-called Egerian Bibliography would not have been possible. But we have to go further. Without this finding, we would have lost a fundamental woman to know the fourth century and how were the early days of Christianity, because it gave us the oldest testimony of the Christian Liturgy and the division of the liturgical year, the transition of the Classical Latin to the Romance languages, and, last but not least, of our vision of the women of the time
