El sistema de individualización científica recogido en la Ley General Penitenciaria española, encuentra antecedentes normativos en los primeros años del siglo xx, en un modelo de ejecución penal innovador, que rompía con el diseño del régimen progresivo de condenas implantado en España y en otras naciones. Se abordan en este trabajo aquellas novedosas reformas, las normas que las integraron, y las huellas que dejaron y hoy se advierten en la normativa vigente.

The scientific individualization system included in the Spanish General Penitentiary Law, finds normative antecedents in the first years of the 20th century, developing an innovative penitentiary system, which broke with the classic progressive regime design, implemented in Spain and in other nations. This work deals with those novel reforms, about the laws that included them up, and the traces they left and today are noticed in the current regulations.
