    The interest for human beings fellows Pirandello’s whole work. He casts light on complexity of human spirit and investigate the deepest and the darkest side of everyman. The roots of Pirandello’s humorous art lie in his interest in human behaviour and action, which open to a duplicity of interpretations. His humorous art is able to fathom the misleading appearance of things bringing them to light through complicated narrative techniques. It is the only way for Pirandello to understand the enigmas of modern life.

    Il centro nevralgico dell’intera attività pirandelliana è l’uomo. L’ispirazione che muove la penna dello scrittore siciliano scaturisce dall’osservazione del quotidiano, da una inesauribile curiosità del mondo e dei fatti umani, inquadrati in una misura interiore. Solamente l’arte umorista, capace di scorgere la doppiezza e indagare la realtà nel profondo, può appagare, attraverso complesse tecniche narrative, un tale desiderio di analisi introspettiva.
